Ended a Year of Recurring Backups, Montclair
A 1920s Montclair home had backed up three times in a year. We cut out the invading tree roots, hydro-jetted the clay line clean, and gave the owner a real plan to keep it clear.

The Problem
Recurring whole-house backups every few months at a beautiful pre-war Montclair home. Previous plumbers kept snaking it as a temporary fix.
Our Diagnosis
Our camera inspection revealed mature tree roots entering through multiple joints in the original clay sewer line, the classic cause of the repeat backups.
The Solution
We cut the roots back to the full pipe diameter, hydro-jetted the line clean of the fine root hairs snaking leaves behind, and showed the owner the exact entry points on camera.
The Result
Flow fully restored, plus a scheduled maintenance plan so the roots no longer cause a backup twice a year. Camera-verified clean on completion.
