Root-Choked Clay Line Restored Without Digging, Montclair
A 1920s Montclair home had backed up three times in a year. We found heavy root intrusion in the clay sewer line and relined it trenchlessly, no excavation of the historic front yard.

The Problem
Recurring whole-house backups every few months at a beautiful pre-war Montclair home. Previous plumbers kept snaking it as a temporary fix.
Our Diagnosis
Our camera inspection revealed mature tree roots entering through multiple joints in the original clay sewer line, along with two cracked sections about 18 feet from the house.
The Solution
Rather than excavate the mature landscaping, we hydro-jetted the line clean, then installed a cured-in-place (CIPP) liner that sealed every joint and crack into one seamless, jointless pipe.
The Result
A structurally sound, root-proof line with a 50-year design life, installed in a single day with zero damage to the yard. Camera-verified clean on completion.
